Professional Corporation
A professional corporation, or P.C., is a business structure authorized by state law for a fairly narrow list of licensed professions, including lawyers, doctors, accountants and often architects. Unlike a C corporation, P.C.s do not absolve professionals from personal liability for their own negligence or malpractice. The main reason why groups of professions choose this organizational structure is that, unlike a general partnership, owners are not personally liable for the malpractice of other owners.
A professional corporation may or may not be the right choice of entity for your company. If you are interested in establishing a professional corporation or other business, contact Allegheny Attorneys at (412) 963-8495.
